Wealth management for your whole financial life

Investments are only one piece. The hard part is connecting them to your taxes, estate, insurance, and the decisions that arrive when a lot is suddenly on the line. We do that work — coordinated, in one place, across the Burrows Financial family of firms.

What is wealth management?

One coordinated plan for everything you own

Wealth management is one coordinated plan for everything you own and everything you owe — covering your investments, taxes, retirement, estate, and the protection around all of it. It keeps those parts working together as your life changes. Investing is only one piece, and usually the easiest one.

The hard part is everything around the investing. How much risk do you actually need to take to reach your goals? When will you need each dollar, so the money that pays next year’s bills is not sitting in something that could drop twenty percent? How do you pay the least tax over a lifetime, not just this April? And how does it all pass to the next generation without a mess? Picking investments does not answer any of that. A plan does.

Most families pay four separate firms that never compare notes. Here, they do. Burrows Capital — your wealth advisory arm — works alongside the tax specialists, insurance team, business advisors, and M&A team that helps owners buy and sell companies, all under Burrows Financial Holdings.

Portfolio
The full set of investments you own.
Asset Allocation
How you split your money among stocks, bonds, and cash — the single biggest driver of how your portfolio behaves.
Diversification
Spreading money across many investments so no single company or bad year can sink you.
Risk Tolerance
How far your account can fall before you would abandon the plan — which matters more than how far it could fall on paper.
Our wealth management services

Everything under one roof

Investment management, financial planning, retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, charitable giving, insurance and risk protection, business owner planning, and equity compensation planning. Use one, or use all of them.

01
Investment Management & Asset Allocation
We build and manage a portfolio matched to your goals and your risk tolerance. The real job is not picking winners — it is matching your money to when you will need it, keeping enough steady so you never have to sell good investments in a down market just to cover a bill. We split your money by time horizon, diversify so no single stock or sector can do serious damage, and rebalance when the mix drifts. When we sell, we do it with an eye on the tax bill, not just the price.
02
Financial Planning
Financial planning is the written answer to the questions that actually keep you up at night. Can I afford to stop working, and when? What happens to my family if I die or cannot work? Will the plan survive a bad decade in the market? We stress-test your plan against real life: a market drop the year you retire, an early death, a long illness, a child who needs help. A plan that only works if everything goes right is not a plan.
03
Retirement Planning
Retirement planning answers one question first: will you have enough, and for how long? The order of good and bad years matters almost as much as the average return. A steep drop in your first years of retirement, while you are drawing money out, does far more damage than the same drop later. So we plan the drawdown, not just the savings. Which account you pull from first can change your tax bill for decades and how long the money lasts.
04
Tax Planning
Tax planning is about paying less over your lifetime, not just filing a return in April. The same dollar can be taxed very differently depending on which account holds it, when you sell, and how you time income across years. Because Burrows Financial keeps tax specialists in-house, your investment plan and your tax plan get built in the same room. (Burrows Capital does not give legal or accounting advice. We coordinate with the right professionals for that.)
05
Estate Planning
Estate planning is not just who gets what. It is who controls it, when it passes, and how it is shielded from taxes, lawsuits, and inexperience. Timing matters here, because the amount you can pass on tax-free is not fixed and has changed before. Moving assets while they are worth less, or while the rules are favorable, can protect far more later. We work alongside your attorney so your documents and your investments actually match.
06
Charitable Giving
If giving matters to you, the how can be as important as the how much. Giving investments that have grown in value, instead of cash, can avoid the tax on that growth and give more to the cause. Setting up your giving in a high-income year — like the year you sell a business — can offset a large tax hit at the same time. We help you give on purpose, in the way that does the most good for your family and the causes you care about.
07
Insurance & Risk Protection
Insurance exists so one bad event cannot undo decades of building. An early death, a disability, a lawsuit, or a long illness can erase a plan that took thirty years to create. We review what you already carry, find the gaps, and coordinate coverage through the insurance side of Burrows Financial. For business owners there is a second layer: could the business survive losing you or a key partner? Is the buy-sell agreement actually funded, or just written down?
08
Business Owner Planning
If you own a business, it is probably where most of your wealth lives, and getting it out well is its own discipline. The tax on a sale is mostly decided in the year or two before you sign — once the deal closes, most of the good options are gone. We work early with your CPA and attorney: how the deal is structured, whether moving ownership into a trust before the value climbs makes sense, whether payments over several years beats a lump sum, and how to turn a big income year into a giving year.
09
Equity Compensation & Concentrated Stock Planning
When you are paid partly in company stock, it can quietly grow until too much of your wealth rides on a single company. The danger is plain: your paycheck and your savings are both betting on the same employer, so one bad chapter hits you twice. We help you bring it back to earth — selling down on a schedule you set in advance, using the position to fund your giving, and planning around the capital gains tax. Your retirement should not depend on one stock price.

Who we serve

Built for people whose money has grown complicated

We go deepest for business owners, but serve executives, professionals, and families across Texas. Here is how we help each group.

01
Business Owners — Before & After a Sale
Selling your company is usually the biggest financial event of your life, and it arrives in two phases. Before the sale, the work is quiet and technical — the year or two before you sign is the only window for most of the tax and estate moves that matter. Then the deal closes. You go from a steady paycheck to a large amount of money and a hundred people with opinions about it. The most expensive mistakes happen in these first months. We are with you for both phases.
02
High-Earning Executives & Professionals
We work with executives, engineers, and professionals whose pay is complicated: big incomes, stock grants and options, and almost no free time to manage any of it. Too much wealth tied up in one employer’s stock. Compensation that lands in ways you cannot control, at the worst times for taxes. Because we work across the industries that drive Texas — aerospace, energy, defense, tech, and healthcare — you will not spend the first meeting explaining your world.
03
Families Planning Across Generations
We help families move wealth across parents, children, and grandchildren without the confusion and taxes that usually come with it. We are in the middle of the largest generational wealth transfer the country has seen. Money that moves without a plan tends to leave taxes, arguments, and heirs who were never prepared for it. The real work is not just the documents. It is deciding who controls what, protecting the money, and preparing the next generation to handle it.
How we work

Five steps, clear and unhurried

A first conversation, a full look at your finances, a written plan, putting it to work, and regular reviews after that. You always know what we are doing and why.

01
The First Conversation
We start by listening. You tell us about your family, your business, what you are working toward, and what worries you. This first talk is only to see whether we are a fit. There is no cost and nothing to prepare.
02
Understanding Your Full Picture
We get everything on the table: investments, income, taxes, debts, insurance, and estate documents. We look at how the pieces fit — and where they clash — because the gaps between them are usually where money is leaking.
03
Your Plan
We build a written plan in plain language, covering your investments, taxes, protection, and estate, with the reason behind every choice. You will understand it, and you will see the tradeoffs, not just the recommendations.
04
Putting the Plan to Work
Once you approve it, we carry it out and coordinate the tax, insurance, estate, and business specialists across the Burrows Financial family. You are not the one chasing five professionals. That is our job.
05
Ongoing Reviews
Life changes, markets change, and tax laws change, so your plan should too. We meet regularly to check progress, adjust course, and handle what has come up. This is a long-term relationship, not a one-time transaction.
Why Burrows Capital Advisors

The difference is coordination

The hardest money decisions are about timing, taxes, and what to do when a large amount of money arrives. That is where most advisors hand off. We stay in the room.

Family of firms
Burrows Capital is the wealth advisory arm of Burrows Financial Holdings. Your investment plan, tax strategy, insurance, and business planning happen in the same ecosystem — with specialists who actually talk to each other.
Pre-transaction expertise
Planning two years before a sale can meaningfully change the outcome. Most of the tax and estate moves can only be made before you sign. We are at our best when we are involved early — before a buyer is ever at the table.
Texas industry depth
We serve clients across aerospace, energy, defense, healthcare, and technology — the industries that drive Texas. You will not spend your first meeting explaining the way your compensation or business structure works.
Independent & fee-based
As an independent wealth management firm, we work for our clients, not a product line. Our recommendations are built around your plan, not around what generates a commission.
Three Texas offices
Webster (Bay Area Houston), Heath (Rockwall County & DFW corridor), and College Station (Bryan & Brazos Valley). We serve clients across the state and beyond.
Long-term relationship
We measure success in decades, not quarters. Our process is built around regular reviews, honest tradeoffs, and a plan that moves as your life does — not one that collects dust until something goes wrong.
